ABOUT US
Why name a church LIGHTHOUSE in the middle of the Rocky Mountain Region? Here are a few reasons:
A Lighthouse exists not for itself, but to guide and save others.... For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. 1 Cor. 10:33.
A Lighthouse stands strong and stable in the midst of storms. Jesus Christ is the solid rock upon which we're building our lives, and by trusting in him we are finding a firm foundation on which to stand.
Lighthouses demonstrate that the greater the darkness the brighter the light shines. God's truth revealed in the Bible, functions as a light for our path, guiding us through the confusion and chaos of modern society.
LIFE AT THE LIGHTHOUSE
At Lighthouse Worship Center you will be able to worship God in spirit and in truth and you will receive practical, relevant Bible teaching and training on a variety of real-life issues. We offer Sunday morning worship at 10:30 am and a mid-week home group service (call for location and time).
We endeavor to create a church culture where:
- God is first in our hearts, lifestyles, actions and in every decision we make.
- The Holy Ghost has liberty in our church services and in our lives. Our church is a place where people can come and get their spiritual needs met and be used in the gifts of the spirit.
- We are a friendly church where visitors can expect a warm greeting at service and a personal follow-up from the Pastor.
- We serve one another in Christian love. At LWC, you can expect to be part of a cooperative environment where everyone is valued and treated with respect.
- The church leadership cares about you, and we are interested in both your spiritual health and your well-being as an individual. It is very important that we make ourselves available to you.
- Lighthouse Worship Center encourages everyone to discover their ministries and find involvement in the church. For those not sure about where they fit in we will offer help and guidance. As our families grow and change, our own availability, interests and even ministry burdens can change, therefore we are free to grow in our personal ministries as we discern the needs of both the church body and our own families.
- We are a family-centered church and we believe that your first ministry is to your family. Giving of your time and resources to the church needs to be in proper balance with the care and nurture of your family. Of course, we can all experience busy weeks with a particular ministry or times of sacrificial giving. However, we must select ministries and church involvement that compliment this basic principal.
- Our goal is to work in harmony with and respect towards other churches and ministries of like precious faith.
- We reach out to our community in any way we can to exibit the love and convictions of our saviour.

Pemaquid Point, with its dramatic streaks of granite reaching to the sea, squeezed and shaped by massive movements thousands of years ago, would be a fascinating place to visit even without its pretty white lighthouse. The spot is one of the most visited attractions of the Maine coast, receiving about 100,000 visitors each year.
The light at Pemaquid was originally built during the presidency of John
Quicy Adams, in 1827, at a cost of $2,800. Faulty construction was blamed
for the
quick deterioration of the tower, which was rebuilt with double walls in
1835. The tower is only 38 ft tall, but it's placement on a rock ledge
gives the
light a 79 ft. focal plane. Flashing a white light every 6 seconds, Pemaquid's
fourth-order fresnel is visible for 14 miles.
Pemaquid’'s rugged point is a wonderful spot for solitary reflection as the
sun, the sea, and the lighthouse beacon perform their timeless cycles.
A visit to Pemaquid Point wouldn't be complete without touring the lighthouse
keeper's
home, now converted into a fisherman's museum. The collection includes
memorabilia
from the local maritime industry past and present. There's even a Fresnel
lens from the lighthouse at Baker Island. Nearby is an art gallery, founded
in 1960
by a group of local artists.
